Mental and Emotional Wellbeing

Mental Health is in crisis all over the world.  Whatever we perceive has a direct effect on our overall levels of function, performance and wellbeing.  As professionals, we see these effects manifesting as physical, emotional, mental, and social symptoms or challenges, and these can often be dramatic.

There are a few routes that are offered here at INVITAS.  These are licensed mental health counseling, hypnotherapy, and hypnopuncture as a few main specialties.

Mental Health Counseling

A licensed mental health counselor assesses and treats mental and emotional health disorders, relationship issues, and life challenges. Through various methods of psychotherapy, counselors work with individuals to develop meaningful behavior changes. They also offer coping strategies for navigating life’s struggles. Counselors have many tools at their disposal that can be uniquely tailored to each individual client’s needs.  These professionals can be a good sounding board, and they can be quite instrumental in helping a client to restructure a healthier, more impactful approach to daily living.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy, also referred to as guided hypnosis, is a form of psychotherapy that uses relaxation, extreme concentration, and intense attention to achieve a heightened state of consciousness or mindfulness. This is a naturally occurring state of mind that everyone experiences daily (usually without realizing it) when they are in the transition between waking and sleeping.  The therapist helps clients to relax, so that the conscious, thinking part of their mind is at rest and the client can then gain access to their subconscious. All of the motivators behind why we feel, think, and do what we do are stored in our subconscious.  The hypnotherapist has various techniques available to help reframe the effects that our subconscious mind has on the individual.

Hypnopuncture

This type of therapy was initially pioneered by specialists on our team, and continually refined over the past 20 years. It involves a hybrid blending of both hypnotherapy and acupuncture.  What was discovered is that many people have difficulties reaching the levels of depth where the most useful therapy can take place simply because it can be hard to relax. When acupuncture is applied in specific ways, the client can relax as well as address specific healthcare goals before the therapist begins the guided hypnosis portion of their session. This type of approach can often expedite the results to be gained from therapy.
